How to Create a Minecraft Server

A beginner-friendly guide to launching a Minecraft server, choosing Java or Bedrock, picking RAM, and inviting players.

Quick steps

  • Choose Java if most players use PC and want plugins or mods.
  • Choose Bedrock if players use mobile, console, or Bedrock Edition.
  • Pick a plan based on player count, plugins, mods, and world size.
  • Create the service, open the panel, set the version, and share the server address.

Before you start

Make sure you know which edition your players use, how many players you expect, and whether your server needs plugins, mods, worlds, databases or bot files.

Recommended plan

For small Minecraft Java servers, start with Java Start or Java Boost. For Bedrock communities, start with Bedrock Plus or Bedrock Pro. For Discord bots, Bot Plus is a good default when the bot is active.
