Install a modpack (CurseForge or Modrinth)

Upload a modpack’s server pack, accept the EULA and start it. Plus how much RAM modpacks need.

Modpacks need a Forge, NeoForge or Fabric server, depending on the pack. If your server runs Paper, open a ticket and we switch the server type for you.

How much RAM?

  • Light packs (under ~100 mods): 6–8 GB
  • Big packs (200+ mods, like “All the Mods”): 10–12 GB or more

Install the server pack

  1. On the modpack’s page, download the Server Pack (CurseForge: Files → the version → Additional files. Modrinth: the server file of the version).
  2. In the panel, Stop the server and make a backup (Backups page).
  3. Open Files and upload the server pack .zip.
  4. Click the three dots next to the .zip and choose Unarchive. Move the files to the main folder if they ended up in a sub-folder.
  5. In the Startup tab, set the same Minecraft and loader version the pack uses.
  6. Open eula.txt, change eula=false to eula=true and save. This means you accept the Minecraft EULA.
  7. Start the server. The first start of a modpack can take several minutes.

Players need the same pack

Everyone who joins needs the same modpack and version installed, for example through the CurseForge app or Modrinth App.

The pack comes with its own start script and won’t start? Open a ticket with the pack name and version, and we set it up.

Still stuck?

Open a ticket with your service name and the console error, and a real person helps you.
